Ain Gordon (journals) won an Obie award for his performance in Spalding Gray: Stories Left To Tell. He is a two-time Obie-winning writer and director, a two-time NYFA Fellow and the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship in Playwriting.
He is currently developing a subversive historical walking tour in Lexington, KY; a one-woman piece about the Galveston, TX flood of 1900; and a multi-year project rooted in real and imagined histories of his home, New York City.
Gordon’s work has been commissioned/produced/presented by The Public Theater, New York Theater Workshop, Soho Rep., Dance Theater Workshop, and PS 122, the Mark Taper Forum (CA), the George Street Playhouse (NJ), the Baltimore Museum of Art, Spirit Square (NC) Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival (MA), and Dance Space (DC) among others. His collaborations with David Gordon have also been produced by American Repertory Theatre (MA), American Conservatory Theater (CA) and American Music Theatre Festival (PA).
Gordon has also written for the NBC series Will & Grace and has been Co-Director of the Pick Up Performance Co(S) since 1992.
